Shoalhaven River Festival returns to Nowra this October
Mark the calendar. The Shoalhaven River Festival returns to the Nowra riverbank in late October, and it is the biggest free community day out in the region.
Nowra is a 20 minute drive from Mountain View Resort, so guests staying that weekend can spend the day at the festival and be back for a barbecue dinner by the pool.
A day on the river
The festival celebrates life on the Shoalhaven River, and the whole day is free. Expect:
- Live music on the riverbank through the afternoon
- Food trucks and market stalls
- Water activities and displays on the river itself
- A fireworks display over the water after dark
The fireworks alone are worth staying for. There are not many places where you can watch them reflected down a river as wide as the Shoalhaven.
Tips for festival day
- Bring a picnic rug or camp chairs, the riverbank fills up fast
- Arrive early for parking, or better, car pool
- Pack layers, October evenings on the river get cool
